The products from this company are carefully hand-picked and extracted using traditional methods and only one pressing.

Yamada Sesame Oil Manufacturing Company was founded in Kyoto in 1934 by Yutaka Yamada, the grandfather of the current company owner. Yamada-san, who was struggling with health problems, changed his dietary style under the guidance of Sakurazawa-san, the founder of macrobiotics. The physical recovery inspired Yamada-san to change his lifestyle, so he started to produce the first sesame oil under the guidance of the master of macrobiotics. Today, the company with its 50 employees produces other products from the best sesame seeds in addition to the signature sesame oil. All products are carefully made by hand using traditional methods without the use of artificial flavourings.

The sesame seed consists of 50% oil. In the traditional, as well as in the chemical method of oil extraction, all the fat is pressed out with up to 3 pressings or the use of chemicals. The special process developed by Yamada Sesame Oil carries out only one pressing, which extracts only about 30% of the oil from the sesame seed. A pure extra virgin product! You will be surprised!
